Yunnan 2011 Menghai Tea Factory Raw Pu'erh
Dark (Pu'erh / Heicha)
"Pu Zhi Wei" (aka Essence of Pu'erh) is a relatively new recipe from Menghai Tea Factory. It was originally produced in the ripe form and then in 2010 and 2011 as a raw blend. Well-selected big leaf maocha or new tea is used to produce the cake.
When prepared gongfu style, this tea exhibits some bitterness or astringency (as expected from a Sheng or raw cake) and lasts several infusions. If compared to the tea factory's original recipe (7572), the taste is comparatively light, but aroma is thicker.
If stored correctly, this tea will improve with age.
Slight astringency with flowers, fruits, sweet hay and a lingering sweet aftertaste.
