Jiangxi Cloud Mist | Low Stock!
Other names: Lu Shan Yun Wu (Clouds and Mist)
Cloud Mist hails from Lu Mountain in Jiangxi Province, next door to the famous tea producing region of Fujian.
The name refers to blankets of mists that develop in the forests and valleys each day and provide a lush, moist environment for the forest, birds and tea gardens. Lu Mountain is blessed with ample water from the Yangtze River and Lake Poyang, offering the tea plants hydration and nutrients.
The deep green colour of the leaves suggests this rich, unspoiled environment. The needle shape speaks of hand-processing skills that are second to none.
Lu Mountain tea has been cultivated for nearly 1,500 years and there are very exacting quality control regulations in place for tea farmers. Much of the fresh leaf grown in the area is deemed to be not good enough to become Lu Shan Yun Wu. Instead, this leaf is used to make other local types of green tea.
For best results, prepare this tea gongfu style with short 30 second infusions.
Vibrant aromas with notes of spring life and a lingering aftertaste. There may be a little astringency so play around with brewing parameters.
