WuYi Lapsang Souchong | Low stock!
This superfine black tea hails from the famous tea gardens of Tong Mu Guan Village in WuYi Mountain, Fujian, China and is known by the Chinese as Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong (mountain tea made from the small bush).
The tea is made using the lower leaves of tea plant and lightly smoked in the authentic and original way (quite different from the heavily smoked Lapsang Souchong tea that was sent to Europe in the 18th century which has an assertive tarriness).
The dry leaf features toasty and exotic aromatics, like catching a whiff of smoke in the forest. On the palate, the dark amber liquor is rich and smoulderingly delicious with a deep "oaky" flavour.
Flavourful, accessible, and a great companion for hearty winter food, this tea will redefine your assumptions about Lapsang Souchong.
Fragrant with notes of chocolate, dried fruits, burbon-soaked oak barrel and spice.
"...tea arrived very quickly and is great quality, will buy again for sure!" ~ Chris, Napier
