Following a delicate pluck of pure buds, this Imperial-grade tea from elevations over 2,200 metres in south-west China is lightly wilted and gently hand-roasted in a wok over a fire to keep its good looks. This unique processing method started a long time ago when the local people making tea were slaves to the emperor for his tea plantation. The buds are covered with fine, thin hairs, which give the tea a dreamy, velvety golden-tapestry appearance and a soft, silky feeling to the touch.
